Kiddies and Rabbits (1901)

  • Description

This is a typical 'actuality' - a short film designed to be shown in a programme of similar titles, usually consisting of a single shot. However, this is clearly not as natural as the filmmakers would like us to believe: notice how the poor rabbits appear to be thrown unceremoniously into the frame by someone standing off camera. (This is a higher-quality version of a video first published on YouTube in March 2008.) All titles on the BFI Films channel are preserved in the vast collections of the BFI National Archive.
