Charles Dickens and Silent Cinema

  • Description

Even before the coming of sound there were around a hundred adaptations of Dickens' works on film - not only made in this country but around the globe. In this short film we explore the world of silent cinema, its audience, its innovations, and why early film provided the ideal medium for Dickens' stories.
