  • Description

With all of the recent snow we've been having here in the UK, we thought it'd be good to delve into our photographic archive and see how winters were in days gone by... Three daughters of Thrush Francis Forster, Helen, Barbara Ness and Frances Phyllis, with a snowman at Belle Vue, Low Fell, built after the snowstorms of 1886. On the right is St Helen's Church Mission Room. As with a lot of our archive photographs, sometimes we don't always know the full information so if you can offer any further information or fill in any gaps, please do!
