    We've had a delve into our extensive photographic archive and unearthed these gems of the Steetley Magnesium works in Hartlepool. First of two batches, more to follow! Hartlepool Magnesia Works, 1942 - looking south from top of the shaft kiln when under construction. The partially covered conveyor transported dolime fromt he kiln and then via railcars to the hydration plant (centre). Note how severe the emissions were before abatement plant was built.
