LIL 185 - cholera in gateshead

  • Description

As Cholera spread from Sunderland the scale of the epidemic grew. A sense of foreboding and panic covered the area as most knew it was only a matter of time before it reached them. The above poster reinforces this as it mentions tha mout of people drinking. Cholera broke out dramatically in Gateshead over Christmas killing 63 people in 3 days and infecting 172 people.
