  • Description

    The Privy Council send Lieut Colonel Michael Creagh and Doctor Daun to enforce a 15 day quarantine by a frigate in the harbour. Soldiers were stationed outside the city to block movement. The resulting decline in trade caused much resentment among businessmen. An 'anti-cholera party' is formed of local businessmen and leading citizens to discredit the cholera talk.
