This is special to me because my granddad started his diaries in 1940 then later died off lung cancer he wrote about when he got stuck in a church when it was getting raided by Germans his Mam and Dad got caught by them and got taken to a concentration camp while my Granddad escaped he hid in pub with several others, while he started capturing his stories and putting them in diaries and when he passed away he handed his diaries onto his wife (my nana) who had also been married for 60 years and she is still alive today which she is 83 years old. I read his diaries and they were very powerful and emotional, he died before I was born so I did not get see him he would've been a great man.
