    Full title reads: "Northumberland. All through ... and all round the town. Alnwick celebrates advent of Lent with football game which has no rules and whose very origin is lost in the mists of our ancient history." Alnwick, Northumberland. A man playing Northumberland bagpipes leads a small procession of local dignitaries to collect the ball at Alnwick Castle. The ball is paraded into town. Lots of people have joined the procession. The ball is kicked of in a field and people rush after it. The game has begun. Men push around small goalposts as the ball approaches. A referee signals that a goal has been scored.
