Seaham Harbour Coal Drop at Beamish Museum
-
Description
Close up view of the 1840s Seaham Harbour Coal Drop which was rescued by Frank Atkinson and the Museum in 1966. It had sat in a corner of Beamish for 30 years after originally being saved. It was a massive (and well planned) operation to move this and the long term plan is to restore the coal drop to working condition to demonstrate how it works - for a full writeup and more pictures http://beamishtransport.blogspot.com/2010/06/big-lift-part-1.html" >Click Here. -
