The photograph was taken during the visit of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales to the coalfields of Northumberland and Durham. The Royal car is travelling through Denton Burn on the way to Newburn. Crowds have gathered on both sides of the road to see the Prince of Wales' car which is at the head of a cavalcade of cars.
