    Type : Photograph Medium : Print-black-and-white Description : The wreck of the S.S. Craigneuk Winter 1899. At 6.55am on the 8th December the Craigneuk struck the end of the North pier while entering the mouth of the Tyne and drifted onto the Battery Rock. The Tynemouth volunteer Life Brigade put a line on board and ten crewmen one woman and a child were landed by Breecher's Buoy.
