The photograph is looking east and shows a tram travelling under the railway bridge on Scotswood Road. In the foreground to the right there is a flight of wooden stairs leading up to the railway bridge. The tram's number is '191' and its destination is 'Newburn'. There is an advert for 'Waddington Pianos opposite the Cathedral' on the front of the tram. A sign on the bridge warns that 'Car passengers must not stand when passing under bridge. It is dangerous to touch the wires.' A woman pushing a pram can be seen in the background to the left.
