The photograph is looking south-east and shows the state of the road 50 yards south of the tramway lines. A man is standing at the side of the road and a car is parked nearby. The side of a building can be seen in the foreground to the left behind the man. A group of boys are sitting on a grassy bank near to the car. Houses can be seen in the background. A wooden sign on the bank advertises plots for sale in Lartington Gardens.
