    Type : Photograph Medium : Print-black-and-white Description : A photograph of the fire-damaged Crown Cinema Scotswood Road Newcastle upon Tyne taken in 1971. The cinema was built at the junction of Scotswood Road and Enfield Road.The Crown Electric Theatre opened in 1910 and included accommodation for eight billiard tables. In 1945 the cinema was bought by the Essoldo circuit. It closed in 1962 after having been used for bingo for five nights a week.
