    Type : Photograph Medium : Print-black-and-white Description : A view of Long Stairs Newcastle upon Tyne taken in 1886. The photograph shows a building on Long Stairs which is half-timbered and in a dilapidated state. The windows on the ground and first floors are boarded up whereas those on the second floor are glazed. The single door from the building leads onto a rough and uneven yard. A large ladder is leaning against the wall of the building and a man and a woman are standing to the right of the ladder.
