    Type : Photograph Medium : Print-black-and-white Description : A view of St. George's Church Osborne Road Jesmond taken in 1964. The photograph shows the new aluminium cross waiting to go on top of the church tower. A notice is propped up against the cross which says 'St. George's Jesmond. ú3 000 is needed for repairs to the tower and erection of the cross. The cross was made specially by Deltafast Ltd Newcastle (gratis). The aluminium was kindly donated by British Aluminium Co. Ltd.'St. George's Church was consecrated in 1888 and paid for by Charles Mitchell.
