Brunton (Newton-by-the-Sea)
-
Description
This is the site of the deserted medieval village of Brunton. It was first recorded in 1296 and a map from as late as 1828 shows a large hamlet here. However, since then most of the farms have been abandoned, though the farm of High Brunton probably marks the site of the medieval village. There are no earthworks to be seen at the site. -
