    "Carved stone post by the B6318, in parish of WALL (TYNEDALE District), Errington Hill Head, Whittington Fell, in verge against wall, on South side of road. Military road number tombstone, erected by the Newcastle upon Tyne to Carlisle turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- 18 (To Newcastle) Carved benchmark on front face.
