Hadrian's Wall at Birdoswald
-
Description
"There is a particularly fine length of Hadrian's Wall http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadrian's_Wall (World Heritage Site) still standing immediately to the west of Birdoswald Roman Fort. The line of the Wall is broadly followed both by the Hadrian's Wall National Trail http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/hadrianswall/ (immediately to the left of the Wall at this point) and by Hadrian's Cycleway http://www.cycle-routes.org/hadrianscycleway/ which here follows the minor road to the right of the Wall."
