    Taken from the berm opposite the site of Milecastle 11 (Throckley Bank Top). The curtain wall lies beneath the southern (right-hand) carriageway of the Military Road (B6318), whilst the ditch lies to the left. Benwell is on the horizon. Looking E. Handbook p.165.
