Wall Mile 55

  • Description

The ill-fated length of consolidated curtain wall at Dovecote Bridge (the lump behind the English Heritage notice). It is now permanently covered in soil and turf to prevent the soft sandstone decaying when exposed to the elements. This would have been the westernmost fragment of consolidated exposed curtain wall, but that is now Hare Hill. Looking NW Handbook p.328
