    Shoddy workmanship by the Roman builders (repairers?) on the inner face of the western curtain wall of the stone fort at Chesterholm-Vindolanda. The wall is noticeably leaning to the west and similar problems were also evidently encountered on the north wall of the fort at Housesteads. Looking NW
