    The Mail, 8th January 2021. "PLANS have been revealed to transform a hotel. Chequers Hotel in Dalton was sold in 2020 after it suddenly closed the year before. Now the new owners Robert and Elizabeth Beck have submitted plans to Barrow Council as part of the building's refurbishment. Proposals have been put forward to demolish the hotel's Castle Suite, a function room, bar and kitchen to make way for manager's accommodation with the other building on the site being turned into rooms to let......
