    "Metal plates attached to stone post by the A69, in parish of WETHERAL (CARLISLE District), Warwick on Eden, set into wall, on South side of road. Carlisle plate, erected by the Carlisle & Brampton turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : TO / CARLISLE / 4 / MILES : : TO / BRAMPTON / 5 / MILES : Carved benchmark on top.
