Wetheral Priory Gatehouse - September 2016

  • Description

"The 14th Century gatehouse to the Benedictine Priory. The Priory was demolished during Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries, but the gatehouse survived as the local parish rectory. The climb to the top is rewarded with a locked gate barring access to the roof. Grade II* listed." Photo by The Carlisle Kid, 2016.
