High Hobberlaw lime kiln (Denwick)
-
Description
A pair of probably 19th century lime kilns. The two kilns stand side by side but the easternmost kiln is earlier in date. Both kilns are lined with firebrick with pots of about 3m and 4m in diameter. There are six draw arches around the kiln, each with one eye. There are also remains of a track which would have been used to transport the raw materials to the kilns.... -
