Archaeological survey at Rattenraw

  • Description

"Volunteers from Tynedale Archaeology Group complete a survey plan (using an optical theodolite and laser ranging device) of what is thought to be the site of a Medieval farmstead adjacent to a ruined boundary north west of Rattenraw farmhouse. The team consists of two on the theodolite and Disto, two on the target board locating the red and green flags placed earlier around the low stony banked features, one more wandering about looking for more archaeology, and one with the camera."
