    "Carved stone post by the A68, in parish of ROCHESTER (TYNEDALE District), Northeast of Blakehopeburnhaugh, by woods ¾ mile from UC road junction, toll road to Kielder, on grass banking, on North side of road. Newcastle quadrant stone, erected by the Elsdon & Rudwater turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : Newcastle / 38 / Miles : : Jedbro / 18 / Miles : Grade II listed.
