    "Until closure in 1968, a branch line ran to Alnwick from Alnmouth on the east coast mainline. Now the Aln Valley Railway Society plans to re-open the branch line on the disused trackbed of the branch. The organisation has a base at the site of the former goods yard at Longhoughton on the east coast mainline where track and rolling stock is stored.
