    Northumberland Gazette, 23rd Feb 2023. "Aln Valley Railway has been shortlisted for a prestigious award following refurbishment work on the Cawledge Viaduct. The vital restoration work to the world’s oldest masonry heritage railway viaduct, designed by Robert Stephenson and built 172 years ago, is in the running for the Heritage Railway Association (HRA) Infrastructure Award. The £100,000 first stage of the viaduct repair saw waterproofing work carried out and fundraising is now underway for a £150,000 second phase to repair damage to the structure....."
