Milestone. Late C18 or early C19 for the Cockermouth-Whitehaven Turnpike. Whitewashed square stone set at angle to give faces for cast iron plates inscribed TO WORKINGTON 3, TO COCKERMOUTH 9 MILES; TO WHITEHAVEN 5 MILES.....
