The arch of the lime kiln near Hanging Shaw

  • Description

"See [[3217314]] and [[3217316]]. This lime kiln seems to have a "double" arch and no (extant) small draw hole - the usual arrangement is shown in [[3178076]]. There is a closely similar kiln about a mile to the southwest - see [[3217379]], [[3217381]] and [[3217386]]. In February 2013 I visited another old lime kiln in the next valley to the east that had a similar arch - [[3372897]]." Photo by Mike Quinn, 2012.
