    ....The Parish of Grindon and Thorpe Thewles is in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees. Thorpe Thewles is the main settlement in the Parish, which also includes the hamlets of Grindon and Thorpe Leazes, and a new development at the edge of Stockton-on-Tees around Brock Close and Buckthorn Crescent. There are also a number of farms and other rural properties scattered about the Parish. In Thorpe Thewles itself, is the Parish Hall, a children's play area, St. James' Church and two public houses - The Hamilton Russell and The Vane Arms. On the outskirts of the village, just across the A177, lies Wynyard Woodland Park, which is owned and managed by Stockton Borough Council.....
