The Low Light, Fish Quay, North Shields
-
Description
"The impressive white painted façade of the Low Light building dominates the entrance to the River Tyne. When aligned with the High Light https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3591993, located on the top of the bank from which this photograph was taken, this marked, when the two lights were built, an entirely new channel for shipping to take when navigating the mouth of the river. The brick-built Old Low Light can be seen to the left of the 'New' Low Light https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5943784." Photo by Geoff Holland, 2024. -
