Naters Bank 'Seascape', North Shields

  • Description

"Photo taken over the River Tyne from Green's Place on the side of the Lawe in South Shields. 'Seascape' was commissioned by North Tyneside Council as part of the regeneration of the Fish Quay area. It was designed by Maggie Howarth and the locally-based Northern Freeform artists’ collective in 1987. It incorporates two large fish, swimming nose to tail, and a shoal of smaller mosaic fish created by local school children. High Light is on the left [[5576]] and the old High Light [[5575]] on the right. A similar view is here [[409787]]" Photo by Andrew Curtis, 2010.
