Nearly 40 years ago it was set to be demolished to make way for Carlisle’s planned inner ring-roadBut the road never arrived, the church in question is still standing – and it has now marked a massive milestone. A trio of events have been held to celebrate 150 years of St John’s Church in London Road. Churchgoers donned top hats and petticoats for a Victorian night, dressing up in the clothes worn at the time the church was established in 1867.... -
