Old Milestone by the B6385, North Milton, Deepthwaite

    "Carved stone post by the B6385, in parish of Preston Richard (South Lakeland District), 200m Southwest of Lane Farm, North Milton, Deepthwaite, just North of bridge over A590, on North side of road. Milnthorpe stone, erected by the Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Milnthorpe turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : K-Lon / =dale / 7 : : Preston-richᵈ : : Miln= / thorpe / 2½ : Carved benchmark on right face. Grade II listed.
