"This stone drinking fountain is built into the wall of St Mary's churchyard. The inscription (http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7664092) tells us that it was erected in 1868 to mark the contribution of Lord Kenlis to the restoration of the church: 'Erected by public subscription gratefully to record the restoration of the parish church Kirkby Lonsdale by Lord Kenlis A.D. 1868'" Photo by David Dixon, 2023. -
