Kirkby Lonsdale, Mill Brow
-
Description
"Part of the Kirkby Lonsdale Conservation Area, Mill Brow is a narrow lane which climbs from the riverside to the town centre. It is probable that it was one of the main entry points of the town during medieval times. Many of the buildings which currently line Mill Brow date from the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The road surface is mostly tarmacked but some of the narrow and irregular interfaces between the street and the building fronts are attractively laid with cobbled or setted gutters and aprons, with some strips of sandstone flag paving."
