Old Milestone by the B6254, Old Town, Mansergh Parish

    "Carved stone post by the B6254, in parish of MANSERGH (SOUTH LAKELAND District), Old Town; on apex of junction with Old Scotch Road, opposite Green End on grass verge, on East side of road. Kirkby Kendal stone, erected by the Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Milnthorpe turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : KIRKBY / LONSDALE / 3 / LONDON : : KENDAL / 9 / 253 : Carved benchmark and rivet on top. Grade II Listed. List Entry Number: 1086856 Milestone Society National ID: WE_KLKDa03."
