Paddlers at Killington Bridge

  • Description

"Many paddling groups descend the Lune from Beck Foot to one of several take-outs west of Sedbergh. The A684 bridge gives a rather short trip, whilst continuing to the Rawthey confluence involves passing Broadraine weir, so the majority of groups take out at Killington bridge, upstream side, river left. Just before the take-out, paddlers are perhaps more prepared to play games which might risk getting wet... This large outcrop river right overlooks a deep pool, and is a good place for seal launches or simply jumping off. Although the level was pretty low on this day, the water was very cold !"
