    "Metal plate attached to stone post by the A684, in parish of Garsdale (South Lakeland District), Hawes Road, West of lane to Grimsdale; 250m Northeast of Hard Ing Bridge, near Far End Farm, on Southeast side of road. Sedburgh 'V' iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : SEDBERGH / 9 MILES : : SEDBERGH & HAWES / ROAD / GARSDALE : : HAWES / 7 MILES : Grade II listed.
