    "Metal plate attached to stone post by the A684, in parish of SEDBERGH (SOUTH LAKELAND District), 120m East of junction with Frostow Lane, East of Sedbergh, just East of lane to Millthrop, by the road, on South side of road. Sedburgh V iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : SEDBERGH / 1 MILE : : SEDBERGH & HAWES / ROAD / FROSTROW / & / SOOLBANK : : HAWES / 15 MILES : Carved benchmark and rivet on top. Grade II listed.
