    "Metal plate attached to stone post by the A683, in parish of Sedbergh (South Lakeland District), Cautley Road; to South East of Low Ridding, on the verge near brow of hill, on West side of road. WR iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- : KIRKBY /STEPHEN / 12 MILES : : SEDBERGH & KIRKBY STEPHEN / ROAD / CAUTLEY : : SEDBERGH / 2 MILES : Carved benchmark on base right side. Grade II listed.
