MACKERETH HILL AND ATTACHED BARN, CAUTLEY ROAD - List Entry

    Small farmhouse with attached barn; derelict at time of inspection (1994). Late C17 or early C18; altered. Roughly-coursed mixed rubble, the facade of the house white-washed, stone slate roof. North-south axis, facing west, the house at the south end. Single-depth 1 unit plan. EXTERIOR: 2 low storeys and 2 windows; lean-to porch in centre, with doorway offset left and roof of very large stone slabs, flanked by square windows; similar square window above porch, and a chamfered 1-light window to the right. All these windows now lacking joinery. Partially dilapidated roof. Square gable chimney to right.....
