St Gregory's church, Vale of Lune - Diocesan crest

  • Description

"The church dates from 1850, with alterations in 1907, but the Diocese of Bradford was not formed until 1919, so this window in the sanctuary area must be a later addition again. The church ceased to be used for regular worship in 1984, and when the Bradford diocese was incorporated into that of Leeds in 2014, the Vale of Lune area was transferred to Carlisle. The keys represent the dedication of Bradford Cathedral to St Peter." Photo by Stephen Craven, 2019.
