Gate in the Gateway

  • Description

"The Water Gate, the southern entry up from the river through the walls into the old city. This must be an ultra-conservation area where nothing much is allowed to change. But some things do. The rustic style wooden gate wasn't here a few years ago. It replaces a less attractive checkpoint style metal barrier seen in [[2479860]]" Photo by Des Blenkinsopp, 2022.
