No 1, Summerhill Terrace, Newcastle

  • Description

"The blue plaque on No1 is to record the fact that Mo Mowlam, the late Labour politician, lived here from 1979-83, while a lecturer at Newcastle University. The terrace was built in the 1830's as part of the superior housing development on this western side of the town. After a period of decline in the late C20, the area is once again a desirable one."
