Towards Central Station from the Castle Keep

  • Description

"The Castle Keep provides wonderful views in all directions including the one west towards Central Station. It has been used as a vantage point by other photographers and there are several photos already posted here. One clear change made recently was the 2010 demolition of the old wooden British Rail parcels warehouse on Westgate Road (just to the right of the car park) [[1833258]]. It is visible, for example, in the following photographs: 1966 [[295531]], 1970 [[309498]], 1982 [[215064]], and already boarded up in 2005 [[1104600]] There is planning permission on its site for a 6-storey Sleeperz hotel which will also use the railway arches below http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=982098&highlight=sleeperz" Photo by Andrew Curtis, 2010.
