The Powder House, Pace Hill, Seahouses
-
Description
"These rocks are shown on OS maps as Pace Hill. They are located just beyond the breakwater on the east side of North Sunderland Harbour at Seahouses and are just above the high tide mark. The curious stone structure with a barrel-vaulted roof dates from 1886 and was built for the storage of gunpowder used in blasting for the construction of the Long Pier and New Harbour at Seahouses. https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1244854" Photo by Phil Champion, 2007. -
